Our Songs

Each song we play is carefully selected for its special attributes–a unique melody, interesting rhythm, or harmonies–and for how it fits in the show.

We emphasize jazz but create new and fresh arrangements

We love exciting and different variations on these classic themes ranging from Vaudeville show tunes to Bebop.  Our favorites are by the great jazz composers–people like Horace Silver, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Wayne Shorter, Dave Brubeck and others. We write our own arrangements.

  • Take Five
  • Caravan
  • Footprints

We love the great song writers like Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, and Rogers and Hart

  • Summertime
  • Puttin’ on the Ritz
  • My Favorite Things

We love Bossa Nova and Latin rhythms. I enjoy singing songs in both Portuguese as well as Spanish

  • Besame Mucho
  • Brazil
  • Corcovado

Jazz Swing

  • It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got that Swing
  • Don’t Get Around Much Anymore
  • Route 66

Hot Club and French Favorites

I am a special fan of the music of Paris from the 30’s and 40’s and the gypsy swing style of Django Reinhart and Stephane Grappelli. We have a show devoted to gypsy swing and French classics

  • La Vie en Rose
  • Sous le Ciel du Paris
  • C’est si Bon

Some Boogie Woogie and Blues . . . even a little Western Swing

  • Got My Mojo Workin’
  • Choo Choo Ch’Boogie
  • Walkin’ After Midnight

Jazz is still evolving

We are constantly working on new tunes. Some of my favorite vocalists are Kurt Elling, Gregory Porter, and Patricia Barber who are taking vocal jazz in new directions. I cover their original tunes. I also enjoy writing jazz arrangements for tunes that come from the R&B or pop world

Our set list is always what the evening calls for

We choose our music based on the theme of the event. Otherwise, we craft a set list of richly varied music creating a musical experience that showcases the special talents of our musicians and engages everyone in the audience.
